OFI at the 25th Annual ESRI International User Conference

“GIS – Helping Manage Our World” – The ESRI (Environmental Systems Research Institute) International User Conference (UC) is the biggest GIS (Geographic Information System) event of the year and thousands of people gathered to share their ideas, expertise and practical application of GIS in their organizations.

OFI has been successfully utilizing GIS since 2003, the aim being to apply an integrated conservation and development approach to the protection of Tanjung Puting National Park (TPNP) and its resident orangutans in Kalimantan (Borneo) Indonesia.

We had an information booth at the conference with maps, photographs and other media to illustrate the work the Foundation does and to communicate how GIS makes a difference to us. Many visitors had the opportunity to become members of the OFI and to buy merchandise.
