Born to be Wild is an inspired story of love, dedication and the remarkable bond between humans and animals. This film documents orphaned orangutans and elephants and the extraordinary people who rescue and raise them-saving endangered species one life at a time. Captured in IMAX 3D, Born to be Wild is a heartwarming adventure into the lush rainforests of Borneo with acclaimed primatologist Dr. Biruté Mary Galdikas, and across the rugged Kenyan savannah with celebrated elephant authority Dame Daphne Sheldrick, as they and their teams rescue, rehabilitate and return these incredible animals back to the wild.
What I have learned from orangutans is that we humans must not turn our backs on our own biological heritage. – Dr. Biruté Mary Galdikas
All proceeds from this fundraising event will go directly to Orangutan Foundation International Canada in support of their continued dedication to the conservation of wild orangutans and their rainforest habitat.
The evening will begin at 7pm with a Q&A with Dr. Biruté Mary Galdikas, followed by the Born To Be Wild documentary. March 30th, 2015 at The Rio Theatre 1660 E. Broadway, Vancouver, BC. This is a 19 years of age or older event.
